Ly rarakis Vidiano 2020 is an excellent representative of the central region of Crete, coming from vineyards located in Herakleion, an area known for its high-quality viticulture. The region is characterized by clay soils and a favorable climate, with an altitude of 450 meters above sea level, which gives the wine freshness and complexity. Vinification is done without irrigation, ensuring a natural balance between the grape and the terroir.
Winemaking :
Vidiano grapes are carefully harvested by hand in the first week of September, the ideal time to ensure a balance between acidity and ripeness. The winemaking process is meticulous, with the grapes being destemmed without being crushed, which preserves the fresh aromas. The extracted juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures between 16°C and 18°C, preserving the purity and intensity of the flavors.
Tasting Characteristics :
This wine has a pale straw color, reflecting its freshness and delicacy. On the nose, it is captivating, with intense aromas of stone fruits, such as peach and apricot, and floral notes of herbs, with a slight presence of limestone, typical of the Cretan terroir. On the palate, Vidiano stands out for its vibrant acidity, providing a refreshing and pleasant sensation, while the structure of the wine is marked by its minerality and the soft touch of ripe fruits. The finish is long and balanced, with a persistence of fresh and delicate flavors.
